Default 2000 Integra vs Civic Si rear wheel bearing/hub

Hi All,
I have an EJ8 with swapped rear brakes and it needs a wheel bearing. I've looked at the two honda parts in question (42200-SR3-A53 and 42200-SR3-A06) and from pictures I can find online they look identical except for maybe a tone ring. If I don't have ABS could I use either one?

Thanks

I suspect that you are asking this question because the non-ABS hub/bearing assembly is over $50 cheaper than the ABS assembly from the dealer... and one could certainly deduce that these two assemblies are interchangeable since the ABS equipped Civic Si uses the same hub assembly part number as the Integra (42200-SR3-A53) AND the Integra RS (non-ABS car) uses the A06 part number which is the same as the non-ABS Civic Si. However, this doesn't guarantee interchangeability. So, the question is are you willing to gamble and try it just to save $50 ? If I was a betting man, I would say you have a really good chance of it working.

I can buy both from amazon and then just return the one that doesn't match, or just keep the car jacked up and take the old one to a dealer if necessary. So, it's not a big deal, I'm just curious since I'm not going to buy anything yet.

Guy I bought the car from didn't say what kind of Integra he swapped the spindles from so it may be that it was an RS anyway in which case I guess it doesn't matter

Just to be clear, here is the comparison:

ABS Integra = ABS Civic Si = Both use the 42200-SR3-A53
non-ABS Integra = non ABS Civic Si = Both use the 42200-SR3-A06

So you need to order the one that you need... if the car has functioning ABS, get the A53. If no ABS exists... get the A06.

I don't have the car with me right now and haven't looked yet but it's possible the previous owner swapped spindles from an ABS Integra onto the car but just left the sensor off/unplugged aince the car doesn't have ABS--in which case I'd be fine using either hub assembly if they're otherwise identical.

My suspicion is that they're not since third party replacements are all specified just for one or the other. I know that with CV axles it's pretty common for places like napa to only sell the ABS version if it will still fit in the non-ABS car.

I guess I'll just look at it when I get the car back.

If you don’t have abs get the non-abs version. Don’t rely on third party labeling to cross reference. Most parts i buy for my 01 crv are actually designed for 99-00 Si, and said parts never list compatibility with the V, even tho the parts are literally identical with matching part numbers from Honda

Fyi the only cars with abs for 1996-2000 american market was the 1999-00 civic ex sedan with an automatic transmission.

Canadian market may be different, but based on sales brochures listing options the ex sedan was the only car available for abs. Which is wierd because on the 92-95 cars abs was more common in ex coupes and sedans

The previous owner got back to me and confirmed he did in fact swap the parts from an integra with ABS. What I'm wondering is if the ABS spindles/brakes are different and will still fit with the non-ABS hub/bearing. Are you saying it will?

Turns out the wheel bearing wasn't bad anyway so not a problem I'll have to deal with for a while.

The abs or non abs will fit.

Most of the aftermarket axles will come with an abs ring on them that you can just pop off with a screw driver and a hammer. I believe I bought a generic rear wheel bearing assembly from AutoZone and just had to pop the abs ring off of the hub before I installed it
