CRX seat question
Hey guys.
My driver's seat is literally rotting away. I got away with slamming it into the passenger side of the car, but I don't think my girlfriend is too happy with that solution lol.
I've been reading up for the last few hours and seen people mention restoration kits... as well as talk about getting some seats from various other hondas. (Or straight up new seats)
Most of those threads are from 2011 though, so I'm wondering if anyone still sells restoration kits. Or, if not... what do most people do for seats now? Preferably solutions under $1,000.
Spoke to a local upholstery place too, rough estimated me 2k.

If you can do basic metal fab, 4th gen Prelude seats will bolt directly on the inboard side, you'll just need to make offsets for the outboard. If you can find a good set then I highly recommend those,
It is possible to fully dismantle the seats with fairly basic tools if you're patient. You'll need hog rings to reassemble. Outdoor foam is not very expensive from any of the big craft chains, though how to cleanly cut it may depend on the specific material. Recovering the seats may be more complicated depending on what kind of friends you have.

Corbeau A4 Seats, $778 per pair
Corbeau Brackets, D966 / 967, $248 per pair
Total, 1,026
Eat ramen noodles for a week, and you're at your $1,000 budget.
I've never used them, but they've got decent enough ratings. A better seat (Cobra, Momo, Bride) would cost you about a grand each, including brackets and sliders. They'd be better seats, but obviously budget busters.

My drivers seat was messed up too, upper bolster at ingress side. I found an EDM set of covers that I was able to salvage and use to replace the torn panels of my original seat covers and it turned out pretty good.
If you can sew it isn't too bad to replace the bad fabric panels. The tedious part was the careful thread cutting and sewing it all back up. It was worth it to me to keep my seats looking OE.
