Default VTEC obdo to obd1 wiring

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great day!!! My name is Juan and i own a 1990 Honda Civic EX l.6L sedan; which was my brother's since 2000, I just bought from him 2 years ago! It was stolen last year and got my engine taken from it, a D16A6. I happen to run into a D16Z6 VTEC and decided to put it on. I bought the harness jumper and got it to start and run but it has no power. As soon as i hit the gas it starts to hesitate. I wonder how to adapt the original harness with no VTEC to the new engine which has VTEC. Any help guys i will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Wouldn't you need an ECU for the D16Z6? The old ECU doesn’t have VTEC functionality (D16A6) so messing with wires right now won’t do you any good.

Find jumper J1 on the board and cut it. This will revert the ECU back to the stock tune.
