Default Aftermarket stereo oddity

I own a 2017 Accord Sport with the basic non-touch, non-navigation display and factory stereo. I recently installed a CarPlay compatible Sony XAV-AX1000 from Crutchfield using all of the recommended wiring adapters (Metra 40-HD11 antenna adapter, Metra Dash and Wiring kit, Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control adapter and the Crutchfield ReadyHarness) to avoid cutting any of the factory wiring. The installation was a simple plug and play ordeal. If you're not familiar, the dash kit and SWC adapter allow you to continue to use the factory display and steering wheel controls, although the functions are much more limited than with the factory stereo. The issue occurs when I turn on the right turn signal, the factory display quickly flashes green then the display goes blank until canceling the signal at which time the clock comes back on the display. This doesn't happen for a left turn. I've not called Crutchfield tech support yet because I haven't had the opportunity to sit in my car and troubleshoot with them over the phone (besides the fact that it's cold where I live and I'm not anxious to sit in a cold car trying to explain the situation). Does anyone have any experience with this issue??? I'll call Crutchfield eventually, but I was hoping at least one person has experienced this.
