Default What spark plugs should I be using on my Del Sol turbo setup

Hi there. I have a Honda Del Sol D16Y8 with a turbo, running at 11psi. I wanted to check that my current plugs are the correct ones. I have NGKR BKR7E in there at the mo?

Thanks.

Unless your Del Sol is a road race car, that plug is probably one step too cold... I would put a set of 6E's in there instead. Use the same gap as you have now with the 7's.

I don't race around in my car like I stole it. I just drive it around normally with the occasional boost. But since I have had the turbo installed, I am experiencing a misfire. I have replaced the dizzy cap, rota arm and ignition leads and yet still when I was driving around after 30 minutes of normal driving to warm the car up, I decided to try boosting and the car misfire when I was accelerating. Do you think the current spark plugs could be a cause of this misfire.
Side note, I had a smoke test performed on my car to see if I have any engine/turbo leaks and smoke was coming out of the turbo and BOV. Since then I've gone round and tighten things up. Do you think this could be a cause?

Thanks

what you currently have is fine. Just make sure you gap them accordingly when you're on the dyno...

I’ve got a turbo b18c, running bkr7e at .025 gap

depending on how cold it is where you live, it could be an issue with you having a small misfire. On a cold day for me 10-20 degrees my car misses a bit when it’s cold and warming up. I just assumed it was the nature of the beast. Once warm it’s nice and smooth. I’m running a open loop setup, so my car doesn’t look at o2 feed back. Maybe that would have something to do with it if your in the same boat.

good luck on hunting down your issue though, I would also agree .016 is pretty tight. Usually the FI cars I’ve seen are .020-.028 depending on how your tuner does it or I’d your having any issues with spark blowout. But at .016 I don’t think blowout would be a issue for you.
