93 Honda Civic ex overheating
My dad bought me this car back in July and the first night he drove it home it overheated. So overtime we changed a bunch of tubes that were raggedy and it ran perfectly fine, but some times it would overheat due to not having enough oil or coolant. But recently when it overheated the oil and coolant were fine, but there was black liquid coming out of the tail pipe and blue smoke, so we decided to change the head gasket (which was completely done for), the black liquid ceased but it still smokes and overheats, what could my problem be?
When you did the head gasket did you check the block and the head for flatness with a precision (machinist's) straight edge?
If you did not it's possible the head (or block) is warped and the new head gasket will leak and cause overheating due to inducing air pockets into the cooling system repeatedly.

Regarding the continued overheating, start by bleeding the cooling system.
If the overheating persists, rent the block tester kit from AutoZone. This kit detects exhaust gas in the cooling system, which would diagnose a leaking head gasket.
