Spoolyboi's dream k24 turbo setup build... What camshaft is needed for 350kw?
Hey guys Ive been looking into turbocharging my k24 dc2r, currently has a stock k24 block with fully built head and Norris Prayoonto stage 3 cams, looking into getting a gtx3076r gen 2 turbo on it but ive heard people saying that the stage 3 cams will not suit the engine and turbo and will make less power over the stock k24 cams, could i get some opinions on this setup and is it really necessary for me to change back to oem cams or could i leave the stage 3?

My power goal is around 300-350kw which is around 420hp as i will be running stock block, Ive seen there videos and they do make really good power, its just i already have the cams in my car and dont want to be changing them out again thats all but a tuner i talked to down here said that these cams would be excessive overlap and that the stock k24 cams would make more power unless im pushing 25+psi which seemed a bit odd to me.

Yep I understand that the stock camshafts would be perfectly fine but would the stage 3 camshafts be ok too? as my tuner said that the stage 3 camshafts would actually make less power throughout the whole power band if im running low boost (10-12psi).
Stick with Stock, my friend.

You dont need cams on a good honda flowing head at least below something like 20 psi.
You have a VTEC head right? K20Z1 cams are PERFECT. The greek 800hp awd RSX of Kostas Manioudakis Kanados has oem type R cams.
If you want to keep the big cams you need a long turbo manifold with at least 75mm inducer (big side) turbine wheel. More like a 80mm wheel. And that turbo will be dog for only 400hp.
Also if you are buying a new gtx turbo, either get a GTX3071 or g30-660. Still for only 400 hp id get a cheaper journal bearing garrett and call it a day.
