Im new here. Starting my very first build. I have a b18c1. I want to be able to make about 600 hp. Want to know what to consider in the build. Thanks in advanced

 

Why 600. How did you land on that number. How do you plan on using that 600hp. Its gona take alot of money to get that 600hp, making it last, and maintain traction.

 

‘welcome to the boards buddy, you will find all the pros and cons about your build here. I don’t have time to get over detailed right now but I’ll help you get started.

1. What are you using the car for ( daily ) ( street race ) ( drag race)
2. Budget..... everybody has a budget, don’t let your goals be bigger than your pockets, that’s why so many people give up on their builds
3. Fuel type? Pump gas and what octane? Or E85
4. Your skill level, how much can you do yourself
5. A/C or no A/C

these are a few questions that will help us get going. But for anything over 400whp I would suggest having a CSS done to your block. Please feel free to ask anything, if someone thinks it’s a dumb question I will handle them lol.

Be aware your budget will need to be $5000+ to pull this off reliably. Turbo kit and turbo, ecu, tune, built motor, axles, clutch, fuel system, cooling system, brakes, general under hood restoration hoses, belts, plugs, plug wires, ignition, radiator...your probably over $5k maybe over $6k depending upon components and how reliable you want it to be.

 

yep, it’s all the small things that add up that surprises everyone. I invited Where’s-Francis to join Honda Tech and I want him to have some great advice . that’s why I advised him to read through my build thread first which will give some insight on what it takes to build a 600hp car.
