Hey guys question, I have a tuner that knows tons about the fuel side is my tune, but not much on the timing side, the fuel is on point but I feel like I should be making more power from my set up
d16z6 fully built bottom
.50 trim turbo 18 psi
750cc injectors. Walbro 255 pump
s300 and a bunch of other stuff
Anyways I was wondering if I sent someone a few if my 3rd gear pull datalogs and my map if someone and take a look and tell me what they think...thank you!!

Timing map looks ok not knowing your compression ratio or head used. I couldn’t trust someone who didn’t know how to tune timing personally. Its a very dangerous road to go down. What may work on one car doesn’t always work on another. Tuning timing is allot easier with the use of a knock muffs or “det can” he can look into them and build his own for $20-30, it takes allot of the guess work out of timing on the street.
Re: Taking a look at my ignition timing table s300
sounds to me like you really just need to open your wallet and find an actual professional tuner.
Tuning timing maps almost requires the tune be done on a dyno. Det cans help, but are not ideal. Only a dyno, and a professional tuner operating the dyno, can actually determine the best timing settings.

I’m no expert by any stretch, but I have read a lot and after having my car tuned by a professional, I’m unsure of how one would be able to accurately tune ignition on the street. Between road noise and lack of having a dyno graph to show you if your making any gains after small timing adjustments or if your losing power via that graph, I would imagine it would be risky business.

Exactly... but so many people want to do tuning on the cheap and think that because they have viewed a few YouTube videos and read some Forum posts, they are qualified to tune. Advancing the ignition timing on the street... especially at full throttle... is really dangerous.
