Default 93 EG DX swap to type r

Hi guys

am finally going to do my type r swap on my dx hatch. My question is wiring. Am trying to do a plug and play wiring. All my search is I have to add a few wires no matter what. I have a jdm b18c type r and it came with rhd engine harness. I have replace it with a US 00 gsr engine harness. Also got a jumper harness to run a the p73 ecu.. I also picked u a 99 dash harness. My question is can I use both harness I got and it will be all plug and play and I don’t have to add any extra wires for like knock sensor and iab....my goal is to make is all plug and play and look factory. Sorry am all over the place. Any help with be great. Thx

The USDM GSR engine harness will plug into the chassis harness of your '93 Civic DX at both shock towers, however, there is no VTEC, Knock or IAB wiring in the chassis side of those plugs. The '99 dash harness is of no use to you at all. The only way you will be able to make this CLOSER to a "plug-n-play" affair is to swap out the dash/chassis harness of your '93 DX with a '92-95 EX dash/chassis harness. This still doesn't provide the IAB and Knock wiring, because the Civic never had these components originally, so you will STILL have to add these wires... that is, unless you convert to an engine management system that you can turn off the Knock and IAB systems... like a Hondata S300. This does NOT work with a factory P73 ECU since they all have OBD-2 style ECU plugs.

You are really making this too difficult... running five wires between the ECU and the passenger side shock tower to meet the corresponding wires in the engine harness side of the plugs is easy.

Thx for the info.. sounds like the easiest way is to add a few wires. Now the hard part is how u do it it and where it goes to the ecu. Am not a wiring guy. That **** confuses me And your talking a diff language. Any pic s and direction to add those wires will Be great. Sorry your talking to a dumb guy with wiring. Thx

Google is your friend OP.

Here is a H-T thread on the ECU wiring locations.

IAB wiring isn’t a concern if it’s a B18C-R.

True that. I was thinking GSR... even though the thread title says "R".

Was it only 92 that the dx hatch came pre-wired for vtec from shock tower to ecu?

He did mention GSR harness so the thought process kinda follows.

All 1992 models as far as I’m aware.

Type R don't have IAB...

edit: nvm, see someone pointed it out already.
