Icon5 Speedometer Off

The speedometer on my 93 Del Sol Si is reading lower than actual speed. How far off appears to depend on the temperature outside. Colder the temp the more off it reads. Odometer recording accurately. Since the odometer is correct I believe problem is within the speedometer. I read that there are some resistors or capacitors in the speedometer that can go bad after a long time. Could that be my problem? How to fix it? Thanks

Wheels and tires are not the problem. Speedometer is way off, driving 65 reads 50 when warm, even lower when cold outside. Driving 30 and speedometer might read between 10 and 20. I have the actual 93 Honda service manual. If odometer is ok and speedometer is wrong then it says to replace speedometer.

You seem to understand that you need to replace the speedometer or entire cluster.

If I replace the cluster or even just the speedometer I believe I would lose my mileage setting which is an original 112,000. I remember reading somewhere that the resisters go bad after a long time and perhaps that is the cause of my problem. I thought I also read that the resisters can be replaced if you know what you are doing and save your mileage setting. Also, replacing the parts might not be so easy to get good replacements. Posted to see if anyone had info about changing
resistors.

If you decide to change the cluster or speedometer, you can register you current odometer mileage with the DMV.
