Best suspension upgrade = base model / DX full suspension swap
8th gen Civc Si
Over the years I tried many suspension setups (new OEM shocks, KYB shocks, Koni shocks, stock Si springs, Tein H Tech, Tein S tech, Eibach Sportline, Eibach ProKit, stiffer sway bar links, polyurethane top and bottom shock bushings, larger diameter rear sway bar)
Any aftermarket shock or spring or swaybar made the car handle worse than stock Si suspension - as in less predictable, less stable, and much much harsher (even the softest of them all Tein H Tech)
I even thought that maybe I somehow bought fake Tein springs and started buying everything from TireRack only.
After all that, I did more research on suspension and ended up going with this setup:
-new OEM DX shocks and springs with all OEM bushings
-new OEM DX front sway bar (smaller diameter) with new OEM links and bushings
-NO REAR SWAY BAR
The car rides and handles better than any aftermarket suspension. I can actually push it hard through a corner and have fun, without the back of the car bouncing all over the place on every little unevenness in the road. AND the car is a lot more stable at higher speed.

yep, exactly
there is no aftermarket suspension that is better than OEM Honda suspension
full OEM Civic DX suspension (springs, shocks, sway bar) is what I still have on my Si
anything other than OEM DX suspension rides like absolute trash and is dangerous at high speed
when driving on a flawless road (track) and pushing the car to the limit - yes, you can improve the handling with stiffer suspension parts
BUT the trade-off is absolutely crazy - as the car will ride and handle like trash on any uneven road
