Is this block useable? Cylinder walls have light rust
Hey Guys
I want to build out my first engine, and I was basically given this D16Y5 block images below. Yes I realize that B/K Series is the hotness, but I'm learning, and I'm not going to feel too bad about destroying a D series.
The problem I'm having with this block is that the cylinder wall has some rust. Is this fixable? If so how? Thanks again guys

Light surface rust is fixable with honing the walls. Make sure to oil the cylinders after so it doesn't rust again.
If it has scratches or dings or pitting then will need to be bored out and then honed.

Image isn't displaying for me, I'm at work so it could be some filter/firewall on my side.
Like Caoboy said, light rust you can get away with a good ball hone. If it's still the OEM bore though, I'd recommend just boring it out .25 over, just because it will give you a 100% clean and round bore again.
Edit: Yeah, imgur is blocked at my job, so the image is probably fine for most other people.
