Scary situation
I just purchased a motor from JDM and had it installed i was told it probably didn't have more than 40,000 miles on it for my 2006 Honda Element. It made some noise but i was told that was normal and it was running fine so i believed that. Then a whining noise started but i was told that was a power steering pump that i needed so i got one installed. That noise stopped. I have had the motor since the end of August / early Sept installed i did notice that the tach guage would move above and then lower and all most stall when idlying. I thought that wasn't good so i went to the mechanic that installed it and he had just installed another one the week before mine in the same car so i knew he knew how to install them, he said he didn't see anything when we went for a test drive. I used to watch the temp guage when i had my old motor because it was always overheating and thats why i got the new engine because i blew a head gasket in the old one. Monday night i'm talking to someone about picking up a guy i had on the run because i'm a bounty hunter and we were about to pick him up so it was an intense conversation we were finding his location so i payed no attention to the guage because for two months its been fine and i have a new engine its not overheated once. Then i looked and was shocked it was full to the red the needle and i was in a panic so i shut it off then it almost didn't start and then engine was moving a bit. I couldn't believe it. I let the car sit for three hours then i started it up with no problem. I still had it towed home just in case. I then left it over night and drove my VW extra car i have for the summer. Today i looked at the oil and it was dark and it was down one notch so i filled it up then i let it sit for a couple min and it was a little overfill and both times below and above being filled it has little tiny micro bubbles in it. I took it for a short ride and it drove fine and didn't go past half point for the temp My Honda mechanic told me to look and see if i can smell antifreeze on the oil dip stick. that was after i was home. I haven't been back out i'm almost afraid. I can't afford another engine or a mechanic to put it in. I'm praying its not the head gasket cause something just don't sound right to me with a brand new engine to be having these issues. What are your thoughts ????
