Default Alternator belt broke and ripped CPS connector wires

Hello my name is Derrick and I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX with the 1.7 l. Thank you for having me added to the community. This morning I was driving my fiance to work and getting off of the highway I came to a stop and when I left that light I heard the belt starting to come apart. Then the car started losing power and sputtering I pulled to the side of the road and then the car died. I got underneath the car saw the belt was 90% of the way tore apart and I found that the crank position sensor connector harness taken a hit and ripped the blue cable was ripped out of the connector and the yellow and brown stripe cable had damage to the sleave as well as the brown with yellow stripe cable. Im in the midst of ordering the connector And I already installed a new belt but my problem is now since this happened I don't hear my final pump prime whatsoever. Could this have done more then damage the connector? I can't even get a reading from the OBD2 reader to check if there is an issue.
again thanks again for having me in the community!!!

Alternator has maybe failed and caused the PCM to be toast too? Loose alternator mounting bolts can cause the alternator to fail from poor ground and fry the PCM. This is quite common on these cars.

You should think about the timing belt also , they have about an 80,000 mile life and the 1.7 is an interference motor . It's possible to pull the lower cover away enough to replace that crank sensor though .

Hey guys I just want to say thanks for all the help. this morning I started working on the car to try and figure out what's going on I replace the cable connector and checked the actual crank position sensor and it was fine. Once I got all the belts back on and tried to crank it it would crank but not start so as the suggestion above I actually went to check the ECU fuse underneath the hood and found out that the 15 amp fuse was blown. Once replaced everything ran I just want to say thank you very much for all y'all help and I appreciate everything. PS did the timing kit about 20,000 miles ago so I'm good for another 60,000 LOL *hopefully* 😅
