Default Airbag Vs Check Engine light

Hi,

I took my 2004 Civic to an authorized Honda dealer to address the Drivers side Airbag Safety recall and when I collected the vehicle back, I see the 'Check Engine light' ON.
Could the Airbag replacement have triggered the Check Engine light?

Please advise.

Could be pure coincidence , could be meddling . I got those recall notices and ignored them because I didn't want anyone touching the car for that exact reason . Have the code read but don't take it back to the dealer . I assume that's who did the airbag work .
