STARTING ISSUES
HELLO EVERYONE!
MY RIDE IS A 1996 ACCORD LX 4 CYL 4 DR MINT CONDITION WITH ABOUT ORIGINAL 235K MILES, TUNE UP DONE ON TIME, NO MODIFICATION MADE, IT IS BONE STOCK. SO THE RAINY SEASON JUST STARTED IN THIS SIDE OF TOWN AND ONE DAY STARTS RAINING AT NIGHT, I DON'T HAVE A GARAGE TO PUT MY LADY IN SO, SHE IS OUTSIDE. SO THE POINT IS, THE NEXT MORNING TRIED TO START IT AND, CRANKS BUT NO START, THEN AT THE 3RD ATTEMPT FIRES UP AND I GO TO WORK. WHEN MY SHIFT ENDS AND TRY TO START IT, SAME THING, 1,2,3 ATTEMPTS AND STARTS, SO I THOUGHT MAYBE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES, CHANGED THEM, SAME THING, DISTRIBUTOR, SAME THING, FUEL PUMP, SAME ISSUE, SO I HAVE TO USE MY CAR TO GO WORK AND I REALLY DON'T LIKE THAT ISSUE ON MY ACCORD. I HAVE RESEARCHED ON THE WEB AND FOUND NOTHING RELATED TO THIS ISSUE, BECAUSE IT IS ONLY WHEN THE HUMIDITY IS HIGH OR IT IS RAINING, IN THE SUMMER CAR WORKED PERFECTLY FINE. I have seen those symptoms when the ignitor is old and, after hours of not operating, can only produce sufficient spark after current hits it a few times. But in most cases, there will also be some stalling while running. But it does appear that your engine is suddenly not happy with the spark it si getting.
For what it's worth, when you replaced the distributor, did you replace the whole thing, including the Ignition Control Module (Ignitor) that is inside the body of the distributor?
You should also make sure your FITV (Fast Idle Thermal Valve) that is supposed to let the intake have more air upon startup and warmup.
