96 Accord PCM shot --unobtanium
My never in an accident 96ex Accord coupe with 220 K on it is in trouble. Its sitting in a local small town repair shop and they are having difficulty sourcing the PCM--Honda part # 37820-POH-L01 What gets me about these guys is they are dealing with Autozone. checking Autozones web page shows 6 pcms available for my model but not one show the exact part # which I gleaned from official Honda schematic. Im surprised that Autozone even bothered to put in the OEM part number along with their own. At any rate, the shop said Autozone would be able to obtain the correct PCM from warehouse. Well, the part they got is throwing codes. So the ordeal is on.
Any potential of sourcing this PCM from somewhere out there ??

Apparently there is this rebuilder called AES modules online who suggest sending in the original and they rebuild it for 149. Havnt done the research on them --for what that is worth. Shop says now Autozone is sending over a working PCM tomorrow. right. Why would they send out a faulty one to begin with--because they are selling dubious quality remanufactured Chinese . So Im going to eat the core charge and hold onto mine but see if the unit coming tomorrow is going to work and send in mine for rebuild. What I really would like to do is tell shop forget it and tow car back over here and pull the pcm and send it out. Why is it so hard sometimes to do what one thinks is the best recourse! I guess I could always sell one..although I would sell the one that was just put in and keep the refurbed Honda pcm.. Seems like a no brainer.
