1992 eh3 was driving then died out of nowhere
Hey guys I’m in need of help again. So I was driving my car at around 40mph then all of the sudden, my motor quietly stopped working and lost power. I pulled aside. I don’t think it’s the alternator because it still cranks strong but won’t start. Also, before it died there wasn’t any lights dimming or flashing uncontrollably. I checked my dizzy for sparks but there’s none so I’m thinking it’s that. But not sure. Any help be appreciated I love my baby and don’t want it to stay there
Okay I’m pretty sure it’s the distributor by this point. Question is can I use any distributor from the civics 92-95? Can it be from other models civics as well?
How do I verify the cel works? A couple of weeks ago, the cel lights came on while driving so I pulled over and restarted my car and it never came back on ever since then. I also tried retrieving any cel codes by jumping the harness with a paper clip and there wasn’t any codes. So I’m pretty sure the cel lights would work if there was a code...
Sounds like the CEL works, but next time the CEL turns on while driving, pull over and jump the service connector without turning off the engine. This will allow you to read the code.

Okay next time it comes on I’ll try retrieving it. With that being said, I’m picking up a distributor from the salvage yard today hopefully it’s a good working one and I’ll slap it on hopefully by tonight I’ll let you know if it’ll work or not
I haven’t tried starting it to see if the rotor spins or not. I work a decent miles from where the car is right now and the junkyard is close to me right now and they said it’ll be 20 bucks so if my distributor does work at least I’ll be 20 dollars deep. I’ll still check once I get to my car tonight
Okay so I replaced the distributor and it worked! But, my fuel pump primed about 50% of the time so I checked the main relay and there was a lot of bare wires exposed so I’m expecting that’s the problem...
Okay today I taped the wirings and everything went fine. Then I noticed that I have a surging idle again when at a stop... it fluctuates between like 700 to like 1200 rpms. Last time that happened, I bled my coolant and it went away and ever since I replaced my distributor it happened again... is it the dizzy? I didn’t do any ignition timing because the advance/retarding was dead middle so I used that as reference when I put the other one in. I’m going to bled the coolant again and see if it goes away
