Had tranny trouble replaced with a used and it slips, shifting hard from 2-3rd.
Can't argue with the post above. BUT: it's not definitive or truly helpful. More in the category of "snark" that makes forums live or die...
For you:
Drop in 3 to 4 oz. of Chemtool B-12. Run it a few days, see what happens.
If it makes a difference, then drain the pan and replace with three quarts of Lubegard ATF, 69032. $23 delivered from Amazon.
This procedure cured my shift flare and restored shift points to where they should be. This was on a 2003 LX 1.7, 183k on the odo. Now drives very, very well. I am well capable of being snarky, but I'd rather be helpful.

My apologies but to go through the work of replacing a tranny with something used with an unknown history is a bad decision . good luck with the remedy though . The powers that be would like to see any car over 10 years old off the road , then we'll be stuck with their over kill tech garbage . It's only a matter of time .
I have not had to rebuild one of these transmissions yet, but I've done nastier ones and it's just a better policy to pull the failed unit, rebuild it properly, and then take care of it well. Swapping bad-for-unknown (but known to fail!) is just an automotive version of Russian Roulette...
You've nothing to lose, one thing people will recommend is honda ATF , I went with napas' LV ( roman #'s ) , a purest would get the OEM for not much more , once you put the chems. in how will you get them out ?

I also would recommend giving the Lubegard ATF a try; I am using it to help it run a little cooler and protect the seals (the ester based synth oil does that).
