99 Accord V6 mysterious whistle.
The issue is that there’s a whistle/chirp that’s coming from near the distributor once the engine warms. I had the engine cleaned about 3 weeks ago, and the noise went away for about 2 weeks. Took my car on a 2 hour drive and the whistle returned.
We took the distributor cap and rotor off to lubricate the pin and noise still persists. I’ll probably replace the distributor in the next week or so, but I’m not 100% sure that’s the issue. I’ve been told it could be a vacuum leak or a pulley, but no one seems to be able to pin point the issue.
Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
Get a wooden broom stick, or a long extension handle or breaker bar.
Place one end against a component, put the other end against your ear, push it against the tagus to close off your ear so you can more feel rather than hear the vibrations.
Go around the engine in the suspected areas until the vibration matches the sound you are hearing.

We did earlier today with a long hose and concluded that the sound was coming from the distributor or under it. The video is from about a week ago. Hopefully I can get the distributor replaced sometime in the next couple of weeks.
