Default SMOG Readiness not complete.

Hi all,

I have 06 Civic Si, all stock. Battery died, replaced. Now o need to run through state inspection but won't pass do to EVAP/SMOG. Since I changed the battery I have driven over 325 miles. With 4 or 5 cold starts. Was driven start/stop traffic, highways speeds. But the SMOG still isn't ready for state inspection. Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the car warm up quickly? If not, if may be due to stuck open thermostat.

If a car takes a long time to warm up, operating conditions for the readiness monitors to run and set may not be present.

Hi,
The car gets to operating temp with in 4-5 minutes. So I reset engine codes again. Took for drive everything checked good except for the EVAP (SMOG) with in 16 miles. The next morning from cold start took the same route as I always do. But still the EVAP won't check out. I work on many cars. There is no check engine light on. I'm so confused. Took for another drive again, cold start. It's in the 30's today engine temp peaked at 180 just for a minute it was floating around 170-175. So I blocked the radiator, fans kicked on at 214 just for a minute, it did this several times. Took on highway for 50 mile ride temp stayed hovered at 180-185. Thought about changing thermostat but it's 172 degree. Temp gauge on dash has 9 bars when at operating temp.
Just the EVAP hasn't cleared, miles driven since I reset ECM 150+ all driving aspects.

Thanks

Kerry

Smog readiness finally ready only took just over 200 miles plus of driving. Wow what a pain.
