Our sons wiper motor went out, hubby didn’t mark linkage before replacing it and now the wipers are backwards. It’s a 2 door accord 2003, anyway to fix this? He’s been trying for 3 hours and is quite frustrated
Do you know the part number? There is a possibility the motor is for a sedan (4-door) instead of a coupe (2-door), as the wiring is different between the two.
Generally, scribing (marking) a line on the original linkage, etc. is for position/adjustment purposes.
Although the part from O'reilys suppose to be for a 2-door; sometimes, aftermarket part's quality control for accuracy, etc. for a particular model are not always so.
Running opposite sounds more like different polarity (+ and -) being applied.

Reason: Disregard suggestion on using spare wires to test due to possibility of damage to motor.
Although this video is done on a different generation Accord, most of this still applies. Starting at 3:32, it shows the reinstalling of the motor with the linkage off. He then cycles the motor to the zero position, then reattaches the linkage.
