Icon5 2003 Accord power steering hose hand-made?

Hi,

I have a 2003 Honda Accord that is leaking power steering fluid and the repair shop told me they'll have to make the hoses because parts for cars over 10 years old aren't available.

Is this true? I've always owned ancient cars and have never been told that a part has to be made.

Maybe it's because they're hoses and can be relatively easily made? I don't know.

The estimated price for the repair is $500-$600.

Since the '03 Accord is supposed to often have power steering hose issues I assume somebody here has had to have this repair at some point.

Thanks.

Pearlie

Checking Honda on-line dealer sites would show the hoses/lines for your model year still available. You may want to try a different shop.

I just replaced the high pressure hose on an '05 Accord, and they are readily available. Got mine through Amazon. It was actually pretty easy to install myself... I'd definitely look there for one, and they have pretty good pictures to compare to what you have to be sure..
