Default S300/P28 on a d15z6? worth it?

I have just bought an EK3 with a D15Z6 1.5 vtec sohc, I wanna b18 swap at some point but it wont be for a while. I've seen people using s300 or p28 ECUs and hondata on stuff like this, I'm just wondering if it's worth it on that engine? what can I do with it? do i need a jumper harness or something or is it plug and play? and could I use the same ECU and chip on the b18 when i get it? thanks in advance

Not trying to be rude, but if youre not sure what hondata or a chipped ecu does i suggest researching first before going any further

No dont get me wrong I've done a bit of research on hondata and stuff but how much of that can be used on an old engine with minimal electrics and stuff? also wondering what OBD that engine will be on and if I need any harnesses and whether I could use the same ECU on the other engine

I would figure that you would have obd2 with an ek. So you could get an obd2 to obd1 jumper and use a p28 ECU that has had hondata installed onto it. In my mind, a stock engine like that i wouldnt think it would be worth it. If you were planning on going turbo or super charger then absolutely worth it.

I would stick with stock ecu if your not planning to do anything major to the motor. But if your planning to upgrade pistons, cams, or turbo, its well worth the money so you don’t have to buy chip after chip and hope it’ll work for your setup and wonder if your motor will last on a basemap chip. Hondata you can tune in real time and add fuel/timing or whatever you have in your setup to get it running properly
