B16 transmission stuck in gear
Hello all. It’s good to be back on the scene. It’s been a while since I owned a Honda now but I got my hands on a 92 civic dx sedan and I don’t know why I ever stopped messing with these cars.
Well I’m back at it. I bought the car from the original owner. It had been sitting for 4 years before I got it so i have relentlessly been working on kinks here and there in between a full time job and school.
I got my hands on a b20b4 low compression engine out of a 98 crv and it’s not that great as-is power wise but it has potential. Planning on turbo...
I bought a b16 transmission as well and I got it for cheap so here’s the issue, the previous guy said he went to put it in his car and he could move around the gears while the car was off but when he turned the car on it would jump because it was stuck on gear.
Now, I got it anyway because I thought, at the very least I could transfer over some of the gears to an LS transmission in the future if I can’t find the fix.
Anyone have experience with this issue?
I have read a bunch of write ups and seen some of the transmission rebuilds and am going to tear it down and put it together but am wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for while I do this?

Found my issue if this helps anyone...
After taking the shift fork bolts out I noticed that the spring and ball where jammed into the bolt. Therefore not making contact with the fork therefore not shifting.
Also the c clip was stuck on the top bearing. The previous owner must have jammed the c clip beyond the catching grove on the bearing. The clip was stuck and the bearing was broken. It was difficult to remove the case.
