A friend of mine and me is considering getting an RSX type S project. We found a car that is missing the ECU and ignition (2005). As far as I know that the ECU, immobilized, and key needs to match.

Could this be possible to have a none dealer program it? Don’t want to tow the car to dealer. Because it’s missing a lot of other parts and we don’t want to buy if the car can’t be started

 

As long as the non-dealer has a high end diagnostic computer that can marry replacement ECU's, keys and immobilizers... yes, it is possible and you do not have to take it to the dealer.

if that is the case- as soon as entire pkg arrives. It should start.

It is attached to it... so it may come with the switch you have ordered. It is a black device with a ring that surrounds the key slot in the ignition switch. Without any ONE of the three pieces (key, immobilizer ring, ECU), the system doesn't work and must be programmed to mate all three.
