92 accord lx runs hot after about 4 to 5 miles of driving. J
Busted a small hose. Replaced then car would not start. Would turn over but would not fire. Checked to see if moisture was in distributor cap and it was dry. Replaced plugs and wires. There was some oil down in plug wells when I removed plugs. Car starts and runs now but overheats after about 10-15 minutes of driving. Any way to tell if t-stat is opening? Or could something else be causing the overheating. Do not see any signs of coolant in oil.
If a coolant hose busted it may have let air into the system.
With the engine off and cold, open the radiator cap, verify it is full.
Turn your heater to full hot.
Find the bleeder screw on the back of the thermostat housing.
Open it and verify a solid stream of coolant comes out. No bubbles or burping.
Top off coolant in the radiator if need be.
Verify reservoir coolant level is correct, top off if need be.
