re: Help !! Firing order D16Z6 (Solved) - Bad Dizzy
You have the wires wrong on the distributor.
No keep in mind, your flat spot is 90 degrees clockwise versus the picture I just posted. you can clearly see you currently have wire four in wire 1's spot.

tanks but if I plug them in the correct order it will just crank and not turnover
re: Help !! Firing order D16Z6 (Solved) - Bad Dizzy
OP, your firing order is 180' out. This would suggest that you have either inserted the camshaft key lugs of the distributor incorrectly or the aftermarket distributor that you have purchased has the lug plate installed 180' out... which requires removing the circlip, dropping out the pin, rotating the lug plate 1/2 turn, re-install the pin and the circlip and re-install the distributor. This will allow you to connect the plug wires as TomCat39 illustrated above.
re: Help !! Firing order D16Z6 (Solved) - Bad Dizzy
Take the distributor off, rotate the shaft 180 degrees and reinstall. Then it should start with the wires plugged in the right place. It is only supposed to go one way but often it is possible to put it on the wrong way. If it seems like you have to force it it is probably as @JRCivic1 said the distributor is put together wrong. If you remove the rotor and insulator plate so you can see the sensors, the one with a single lobe (CYP) should line up to trigger at cylinder #1.
After installing a new distributor you have to set up the timing with a timing light.
It looks like one of those Chinese knockoff distributors, it could be a dud.

I made an account just to thank JRCivic. I have a CRX that would not start for years after a D16Z6 swap, because the previous owner put together the lug plate 180' out of phase. I had the wiring wrong to account for the 180 out of phase and it actually ran for a short while. Then the car slowly died on me with decreased performance, longer start times and eventually wouldn't start at all. What was happening was the ECU no longer has the injector and spark plugs paired correctly, and eventually adjusted them it to the point the car would no longer would start. I fixed the distributor, changed the wiring and after a few cranks it worked itself out. Thanks JRCivic!
