Suggestions for air intake with limited space under the hood?
Hello.
I'm looking for ideas what to do with my air intake in '94 D15B2 Honda Concerto.
The space for airbox is terribly limited - because fusebox and battery are located there:
First I was thinking about putting DC2 Integra Type-R airbox there but there is no way to fit it there (box is too big in every dimension).
I don't think that any of D16-series airbox will fit there - my D15B2 airbox is smallest one I've ever seen in Honda cars and it's still very tight there... so I'm looking for suggestions what to do with my air intake.
Maybe completely removing resonator, drilling a hole in front bumper for a pipe going from airbox there for cold air would be good idea?
Mods done so far to my D15B2 motor are:
- dpfi to mpfi swap with D16Z2 parts (ECU is from D16Z2 4WD Civic Shuttle),
- D16Z2 camshaft with D16Y7 camgear,
- changed whole exhaust to 2 inch stainless steel - 4-2-1 manifold+middle extended muffler+rear muffler, no catalytic converter.
- K&N air filter for D15B2 stock airbox (box seen on picture),
..so I guess I could get some gains from modified air intake system, am I right?
