Default well...

It's been a long time. Lots of reading. 0 time posting. So her story. 91 base model. Rotting out. Wife bought it for me for 500$ from a short 2nd owner. Brought our daughter home from the nicu in it. Went through a few 1.5s. Drove around with 1/2" water (frozen in winter ) in the floorboard. Wife had a gsr. Rotting out. And the deal was that if I let her buy a brand new car, I got the gsr. So the hatch was downed and the gsr was pulled/ sent for machine work. 6 years later getting close to hearing it run again

me too! It's been a long one!! As to my daughter she hits my bolts with a drill behind me after I start em so we got the front end back together in no time after the single cam pull. Hahaha. Please don't report me for child labor.

The first time I painted it the summer before last I just could not handle the rust holes being there. Lol. So I made the terrible mistake (will never attempt body work again) entirely too much labor / lack of proper tools.

Swiped pre ownership

Remind this has all been done in the backyard, bugs, rattle cans, hand tools, but majic can be made on a budget. Rustoleum gloss white and spraymax 2k clear much better than I ever expected..

Happy to follow you on the build man it’s coming along great. I did exactly what you mentioned. Drove roughly 1k or so miles before boost and not to “break it in” but just to make sure no leaks and that she runs solid before hand

Well. Finally got some inspiration to start working again. Birthday weekend got the front end tucked and put together. Going to go in the morning and get the fuel lines flushed and the tank put back in. Slow n steady wins the race. Snowboard trip next weekend. Mind will be in the mountains. Hope the inspiration continues after the trip.
That center white body piece under the headlights is a absolute PITA by the way!! I left the top bolts out of the crash bar so don't have to disassemble the entire front end to remove the bumper anymore. Which is off because it's easier for me to pull it into the shop that way. It's uphill and I have to get out and pull it in.

Finally got the engine in! +1 for manhandling it in there solo.

Note to anyone who takes it from the bottom. 2 tires is DEFINATELY not eanough. Lol. Car bottomed out then the hoist or jack couldn't get underneath it :-(

Well....guys. I think I'm giving up. Got the motor/trans in and can't get it running. Come to find out I need 400$ for someone to break in tune then $3500 + tax turbo kit then another 600$ to dyno tune. I've spent 10 years dumping any bit of savings I've had into this thing for it to still just be sitting.. I don't think I can do it anymore... and my inspiration of building this so my grandpa will acknowledge me is out the window. Has alhzimers and other issues so bad now he doesn't remember talking to me when I sent pictures last week. And heart issues are restrictions him from going for a ride even in if was done...so yeah. Like the rest of my life..WASTED.

Parked outside for now. Taking it home this weekend to rot or make someone very happy with my loss..

Skip the turbo and go NA for now. What ECU are you using? If you already have it setup for tuning and its a stock or mild build a base map should be fine at low load to break things in.

If you want to let it sit - cover it and think things over.

You don't have to BUILD it to have fun with it. Just put it back to stock and enjoy.

It's on Hondata s300 and so far no base map has worked. Got it to idle.. but any touch of the pedal it falls out and dies. It's overloading on fuel with the 750 and I've probably already washed. The rings. Out trying poopy maps with no lluck.
and there's no way to go back stock. I blew up the 1.5 and during disassembly of the gsr the injectors exploded n god knows where all the stock parts are..

750 is what? I hope that isn't the injector size. You should be using the stock 240CC injectors to start with. I would get a set of those to start with if you don't have them.

A base map should be just that - a conservative base to start tuning from. (The stockjdmp72 base in smanager sounds right...)

If there are idle / part throttle issues theres something else going on; Vacuum leak, injectors, map sensor, TPS.

Make sure in smanager that the MAP sensor is set right - should be "Stock MAP sensor" but I don't know what you have installed. Also calibrate the TPS.
