Default Assembling a d15b7/d16z6 turbo build

Hey guys, first time post.
Recently purchased an engine off Facebook marketplace. So I’ve already made my money off all the goodies and stuff it came with however the engine was assembled back in 2017, just wanted to see if the short block is salvageable with a surface re work or if it’s time to start looking for a new short block. Thanks in advance 👍

If you are concerned about the outside edge gouging, you shouldn't worry. if it's sticking up above the deck just file it down smooth. once it's no longer a protrusion above the deck it will not affect head gasket seal being the outer edge.

The critical area of the head gasket is the cylinder tube area. The outer edge is only to keep coolant in the jacket and oil in the oil lines and does not see anywhere near the pressure the cylinder tubes do.

Yes, this ^^^^^^^^^^^^.

Smooth the outer edge, torque a head down on it and SEND IT !!!
