Default Crv rear diff

Ok so 99 crv.. one of my front cv axles was facked so I removed it and left the inner race in the trans and drove it home as a rear wheel drive only it worked fine besides the diff clutch screaming when I gave it a it to much and not being able to go over 85km/h without is just going into neutral like but after about 10 minutes and 5 km from home I came to a stop sign and went to take off. Then it was like it was in neutral... Does the awd stop working after a while or what I got towed home and ten minutes later went out and started it and it worked fine again but didn't want to drive it anywhere in case it happened again..

Default Re: Crv rear diff

Probably over heated the dual pump and caused the temperature valve to open up so the clutch pack could not engage.

For future reference, that is not a recommended practice at all! These are FWD vehicles that can send some power to the rear in slippery conditions. NOT 4x4 vehicles that can tolerate front driveshafts being removed.
