A little background information, I’m planning on doing a swapping a B20 into my 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback DX.
Today I bought a b series linkage but it’s in pretty rough shape (lots of rust in the shifter area). I would like to clean it up and rebuild this shift linkage. Do you guys think it’s worth it? I spent $60 on it. Also, if you guys do think it’s worth it, would you be able to point me in the direction of a rebuild kit? I did some research on my own, but I don’t really know what I need exactly. I’m really new to the Honda game.
Thats really really bad. I have and EM1 shift rod (lower portion) along with dual bend shifter I can sell you. PM me if interested
But again, thats pretty bad, every time you hit a bump some will flake off leaving you with nothing a few days later, lol
What if I sanded it and repainted it? And replaced the bushings?
Incredible dedication to saving that old tired crap. WAY more work than it is worth. Clean shift linkage is available all over the South... it will cost a little bit more, but it will be worth it. No work at all. PM me if you need some.
A new replacement can be had for like $100. Why waste your time on it?
You must not be talking about OE linkage... ITR linkage is completely discontinued and LS/RS/GS/GSR linkage is HALF available... one of the two rods is actually discontinued. EM1 linkage is available but the list price is almost $180, so even with a great discount, you aren't going to get it anywhere near $100. HASport linkage is $150. So what linkage were you referring to ?
