Default P2185 issue

Hey guys,

weird issue. Wife’s 2005 accord exl threw a p2185 engine light. So I did my YouTube mechanic research and located the sensor. Went to Napa, bought replacement and dug into it. Sensor I purchased was incorrect. After about 2 days of research I can’t find a replacement for the one I pulled out. To my knowledge, it’s factory installed. I initially purchased the brown sensor with the flat top. That has a round plug connection, where this one has the rectangular style. Then I found ones with the rectangular style connectors but they are way to small. Engraving says 0805w and has 12/03 as well. I’m totally stumped. Anyone run into this before?

Honda part number is 37870-PNA-003. Either get OEM or an aftermarket compatible based on the Honda part number.

Rockauto list WELLS 5S1529, as well as other alternate aftermarket part numbers that are compatible.

Thanks tech8, ordered that. It’s not the correct one. I actually ordered the one you mentioned as well as 37870-raa-a01. Neither fit. Pics below.

Do you have a v6 or 4 cylinder? Where exactly did you remove that sensor from?

Please test the the original sensor 1st. I have a feeling you have a wiring issue.

I posted earlier for some reason it didn’t take. So today I had this thought that the fact the sensor had two “nuts” see,Ed off. Got home, put a wrench on each and presto. The bigger nut was an adapter between the radiator and the sensor. Put one of the new sensors on and put it all back together.
