HI all, I am new to this forum and have started a new project that I need some help with. I have a 1997 Honda Accord LX with the F22B2 engine (OBD2 version). The motor has gone south and needs replaced. I picked up a JDM F22B DOHC for cheap with low miles. I already have the Prelude Si auto transmission bolted to my B2 (transmission is still good and was replaced about a year ago). So I read up on the dual cam and swap, I noticed that it lacks a few sensors here and there Oil Sensor, Knock Sensor and the Crank and TDC sensors are located in the distributor vs being mounted to the crank/oil pump housing . I want to retain OBD2 if possible. So my questions are
1. What oil pump housing with work with the F22B DOHC, The 96 Prelude S 's H23A1 or The Accord's F22B2?
2. If I cant retain OBD2 and have to go back to OBD1 would this jumper 96-97 Accord 4cyl to OBD1 Auto ECU / TCU Harness be suffice with correct ecu & tcu?
3. Which distributor do I use? The TD-61U, TD-77U or the original that came with the motor?
I plan on using the H23's ECU 37820-P14-A63 out of a 96 Prelude if staying with OBD2 (I know it might run rich)
If I cant stay OBD2 then I will look in to that harness more along with OBD1 and I kinda sorta know a guy who tunes or can create custom basemaps.
Whats the JDM motor code? Is it the JDM motor that has no other characters in the code? Just F22B?
That motor came in JDM 1992-1996 Prelude Si's and the 97 Prelude Si.
It could be OBDI, are you sure its an OBDII motor?
-If your going to run an H23 ECU then you'll need to wire in a knock sensor and get the sensor mounted to the block.
-I would check and see if the F22B2 Oil Pump Housing fits on the JDM F22 block, its likely to be more compatible given they are both F series.
-What is the sensor configuration for the F22B2, as far as the TDC & Crankshhaft Position Sensor, I know the F22B2 has the Crank Position Sensor on the Oil Pump Housing but is the TDC Sensor in the distributor?
A JDM F22 w/ F22B2 Oil Pump Housing & F22B2 Distributor makes the most sense to me.

Sorry for the delay in my response. The F22B2 oil pump housing will fit, both of the sensors are on the housing picture. I will have to either swap the guts from my B2 dist. into the jdm one or buy the TD-77U distributor. My next question is the knock sensor, do I use a helicoil or a timesert to mount it to the block and at what location should it be mounted on the block?
This is the backside of the F22B2 block. I outlined where the knock sensor is mounted. I'm having trouble getting a picture of the backside of the JDM F22 block, it may or may not have a place (raised, machined surface portion) to mount the sensor. It isn't going to have a threaded hole but if it does have a machined place to drill and tap a hole thats all you need. As long as you get the sensor properly threaded into the block (correct depth) and in the correct place to pickup the "knock" sound frequency then your set. From my research the thread size is a Metric M12x1.25 but some are a M10x1.25, get a thread gauge and measure the threads on the knock sensor your using, get that size tap, drill a hole, tap it and thread your sensor in there, thats it.
