Hey guys new to this forum not the car scene i bought an 02 civic about a month ago and every once in awhile it goes into limp mode no power wont rev past 3500 pops and sputters if i turn the car off and then back on usually comes back just fine but lately it only runs for a few minutes and then does it i went to scan the for codes and my diagnostic port does absolutely nothing when i plug a scanner into any ideas? Suggestions? Its 5spd d17a2 vtec also im pretty sure the iacv is not working cuz it jumps from 1k to 3k rpm at idle

 

Bad ECM ?

 

Loose alternator bolts caused the ECM/PCM to short and fail?

 

Does it have an engine light?
What code if so

 

Sounds like a problem I'm having too. O'Reilly's checked code and told me to change the O2 sensors
i haven't done it yet, but I will update here if I do soon
