Hows it guys, (n gals),

So I got a problem with my kids car. I have never encountered the exact symptoms before. We bought a 2001 Honda Prelude for my son. It's an auto trans. (M6HA if I am not mistaken... feel free to correct me id I am). Any who, the seller said it need a new transmission. So After getting it home we noticed that it doesn't shift out of neutral with car off, ok... no worries. We then get er fired up, we noticed that it now goes through the gears... however.. every gear has the same symptom. It takes a feathering of the throttle to get any movement. Now normally, I am used to losing a series of gears entirely or all at the same time. The fluid is darker.. but not brutal. It seems if it wants to grab the gear but just can't. After a while on a straight stretch.. we can get the car up to town speed.

Any thoughts? I was thinking about doing a fluid and filter change but don't want to waste money.
