Transmission whine ? Need Help !
Okay so long story short I bought this car off of my friend and he’s not even the slightest bit mechanically inclined. It’s an Ek a 97 Honda Civic Lx with a D16y7. But the car started making a whining noise and not long after his tranny crapped out. I bought the car from him and found someone with a used tranny for sale threw it on and I still hear the noise. Throw out bearing wasn’t in the best shape but way better than the original one. Is it possible that the input shaft bearing was shot on both ?
it all went well even used actual mtf from Honda. The noise seems to get a whole lot quieter but it’s still there once I push the clutch in. I just don’t know since I have no problems with the transmission at all. No pop outs and no grinds it’s all smooth.
Known issue and most likely your slave cylinder.
Locate the slave cylinder unbolt and put some molybdium sulfite grease on top of the ball.
What you hear is the slave cylinder head making sound in the throw out bearing fork
