Hi im new here and i need some help... I just got a gsr b18c1 and for some reason the check engine came on after a few days...i checked the error code and is a p1259...i clean the solenoid and the plugs and the check light disappear...but now for some reason whem i gas it the car cut in 6.500 rpm and don't go over that, even in neutral do that and if i turn it off and back on he don't do it anymore. I would like to know if that problem is related with the vtec solenoid or maybe its dirty. Thanks for any answer, im not full english so i hope everyone can understand me, regards.

 

Have you checked your oil level lately? That will affect how the vtec system operates as well.

 

Yes, actually i just changed the oil and my engine use 4 quarters

 

I suppose its possible it could be unrelated to your check engine light. Is it throwing any other check engine light codes? How did you clean the solenoid and the plugs?

 

Nop, the scanner don't show more codes just that one...the way i clean the solenoid is a change the gasket and i use a air compressor to clean it inside and then the check light disappear

 

Reset the ECU, Try unplugging the battery for 5 min and re install. Or unplug the ecu and plug it back in after a few min.

 

I did that a lot of timea but the light keeps coming on and sometimes i have a false rev and i cant go more than 6.5k rpm it's stressing

 

Its in Limp mode! the check engine code is causing the ECU to not let you over rev the engine and blow it up! possibly cause from low oil which is very common! change the oil if you haven't already.

Is the code still the same p1259? check the oil !! if its too low it will cause this. Also check the wire plugs on the Vtec solenoid and make sure nothings pulled out or damaged.
