Hello I have a leak between the transmission and the engine and I am trying to track down the gasket/seal name to order the part. Would it happen to be the rear main seal? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

If your rear main is leaking (oil) then Honda calls it a Crank Seal (Rear). If your Input Shaft Seal is leaking (transmission fluid) then it's Input Shaft Seal.

Are you sure the leak is inside the bell housing area of the engine/tranny and not coming from somewhere else?

 

from on top -
VTEC solenoid gasket
distributor o-ring
valve cover gasket

at the clutch/tranny dust cover (bottom) -
rear main seal

Yeah but you didn't confirm what was leaking, transmission fluid or oil? So it could be either the rear main seal or the seal on the shaft of the transmission.

 

Honestly not sure. Brother in law is working on it and didn't take pics so I'm having to kinda research/guess what he was talking about since he will be doing the work. If you have the name of the gasket/seal for that shaft I will buy that part as well as parts are quite cheap.
