Hello ~ I’m new here and have been having issues with my transmission slipping ~ Not sure if it was caused by an issue with the oil leaking out ~ I had an oil change done and two weeks later the slipping started and then we found out the oil was dry ~ Someone told me that Honda’s have a safety feature that makes the car seem like it has transmission problems when it’s out of oil ~ he also thinks the mechanic that did my oil change may not have tightened everything up properly causing the oil to leak out ~ Have been quoted $1500 for the transmission and a repair on the seal that allowed the oil to leak out but this is from the same shop where I had the oil changed two weeks before this started ~ At the point where I am thinking I should just sell the car and cut my losses but I have maintained the car pretty well since I’ve had it and I would hate to see it junked ~ I would rather sell it to someone that knows Honda’s and can get her back on the road ~
