Blower motor only works in higher settings
Thanks for the cable info. I will check that out but I was just out to lunch and noticed water pouring in my passenger floorboard whenever I turn left. The condensation from my A/C is not dripping on the ground like it should. I bet one thing has something to do with the other.

Defiantly agree with heater core or hoses that go to it. That's the only way that water gets in the cabin unless you have a manual water temp gauge?,,,Probably not. I'd fix that first and see if the other demons pop up. Resistor possible, but I would lean more towards the switch. The resistor simply absorbs heat from the volts going through as to the setting of the switch. It's basically a ceramic lil' brick that has no mechanical function. If the car was run on the lower settings most of its life the terminals the brass connectors could be decayed/corroded. Cleaning might work and testing for good contact. As in Wire brush and take a pick and bend them to insure they are touching good.
That’s usually just the drain tube from the evaporator case coming undone. Look up under the dash with the ac running and it should be obvious
my blower switch is still fine 25 years later, resistor...not so much.

Setting 4 (highest setting) doesn't run through the blower motor resistor like settings 1, 2, and 3; so, even if the resistor block was bad, the blower fan will still run via setting 4.
The Drain tube is meant to take care of Condensation as in your running the air/A.C and hot and cold create WATER. If you got Coolant coming in It's under pressure.(sry David Bowie) Not what the "box" was meant to handle. In the heat of day you will see a puddle of water under a car in the drive or at the gas station or even at a stop light. Not coolant. It sux but he's looking at most probably The heater core and a possible switch/ resister...Some resister's do have a coil of wire in them that can overheat and break. But it would not work at all then. I stick with that.
You got me there dude. I just panicked? One time a mechanical oil pressure gauge line came off inside my ride and shot right into a gurls purse... I'm still sticking with switch since somebody already suggested the cable. That controls temp setting not so much fan speed.
Tech8 You seem very wise grasshopper. We have a guy with a no run issue he's runnin' it down checking all the usual suspects but with no luck. I don't know how to send a link here....But it's a crank no start. Perhaps you could chime in? He's checked all the basics and some advanced possible's . He's got fuel air and spark swears the timing is on yet fire coming out of the intake? something is amiss here!
