Default Mishimoto Oil cooler Install issue

Sorry if this is on the wrong forum but figured it would be the most likely spot someone may have an answer.

The problem I’m having is installing the sandwich adapter to the block. I don’t have the oem oil cooler and the fittings on the top of the adapter hit the coolant tube making it impossible to mate the adapter to the block. I’ve tried spinning it in any direction with no luck. Has anyone had this issue?

The only thing I can think of is adding my greddy adapter to space it out, just concerned if this would cause any other problems, or would I have to try and source the oem oil cooler?

This is is on a b18c block

Without greddy adapter

With greddy adapter

Not a bad idea, a 45 or 90 degree fitting MAY clear in the upward position.

I tried both, the banjos were my last hope. The issue I think is the Mishimoto adapter is taller than the others making it just about impossible.

OP, what about rotating (tightening) the banjo bolts so that a flat side is facing the water pipe instead of a corner as you have pictured above ???

Good point. Theres still about a half inch gap between the adapter and the block after trying. I can try getting some better pics. As of right now I think using the greddy adapter as a spacer may be my only option until I find the oem oil cooler.
