Replace rear brake calipers in pairs?
2002 Accord EX with 149K miles, I replaced the rear brake pads and rotors.
On the right side, I could not get the piston to retract far enough to
install the new brake pads, it just spun, so I replaced it with a reman.
On the left side, the piston retracted all the way, so I did not replace it.
LR caliper is original, RR is a reman that lasted only a few years.
Went for a 10 mile test drive. Noticed that the RR wheel was warmer
than the LR wheel. About as warm as the front brakes. LR wheel was
not warm.
Lifted the rear end of the car, and spun both wheels by hand.
RR spun about 1 full rotation, LR spun about 1-3/4 rotation.
Wondering if the brake force will be higher on the RR now, which could
be a problem on slick winter roads.
Also wondering which wheel has the correct amount of drag. Is the RR too
tight, or is the LR too loose.
