1990 civic hatch with solid CEL

hey guys my 1990 hatch has DPFI to MPFI and has been running great for the past year and my ECU has a solid light i had this problem about 5 months ago and i bought a new ECU and that didnt fix the problem still had a solid ECU then one day tried to start it up and it worked fine put the old ECU in and still worked now im having that problem again do you guys know what would cause a solid ECU light thats not a bad ECU?

Yes - bad ground. Usually at the thermostat housing.
