some dude bought one off me and is complaining that the exhaust makes no noise and that the bumper rattles. i told him the bumper rattles cuz his bumper is loose, not cause of the exhaust. also if the exhaust is shaking that means it was not installed correctly. could a stock airbox be the reason it makes no noise, cuz on my car it was loud as hell. someone also tell him that the racing medallion sticks out a lil bit on integras just like buddy club.

 

if he has an ls, it wont be as loud as it was on your R....

I have a racing medalion on my car - It's the loudest exhaust I have heard on an R (heard HKS, Apex N1, Mugen). It's very very bassy and loud!! It's probably about 85db (just a very rought estimate). It should not rattle at all - mine doesn't make any rattling noises. You may want to check the bumper or the exhaust hangers. Good luck!

 

that's what I told him B2!!! They are loud as F*&$ on Type-R and he has a 98 i think. sometimes i got a head ache from the exhaust cuz it was too loud, but I got used to it. I'm thinking that it is a faulty install, a faulty cat, or something else like a banana in the b-pipe. either way brownman sorry that you were disappointed, but bolt up a new cat and see what happens

no leaks to my knowledge. it was loud when i took it off, then it sat in my dad's garage for a while then i sold it. what could have happened?

 

I run stock air box with Spoon 4-2-1 and a straight pipe with the Medallion.

Conclusion:

1. I can not conversate with my passenger
2. I need at least a 400w system to hear at least some music
3. I am seeing a doctor soon about hearing aid products
4. My neightbors hated me.
5. No rattling except for my brain cells.
6. I set off more alarms than Rousch Mustangs.

I drove the car again this morning and came to this conclusion. The exhaust definately sounds nice and deep. You can definately hear it but Im almost positive it should sound louder. Its definately not loud as f**k. My friends civic si is honestly way louder. I dont care too much if it just not as loud because of my setup (comptech header with small collector), but I want to make sure that it is working properly. Would I be able to tell if that cat is clogged just by looking at it? Or is the system is leaking (which I am pretty sure it isnt). JDMSpoonITR, I didnt mean to message you in a rude way. I was just a little suprised when it didnt seem as loud as it was hyped up to be. Thanks!

 

you can tell if it is clogged by having a friend listen behind ur car and you blip the gas, if it sounds raspy, or unclean, then you might have a problem. when it was on my car, the sound was very clear and crisp, no raspiness. Test pipe will make ur car more raspy but more throaty.
