2003 CR-V Oddities.
So I'm new to working on cars, but I've been trying my best to learn a lot about them since buying one recently. So pardon my newness...
So I recently bought a 2003 CR-V (2WD base model) from a used dealership. The motor and engine are in great condition, the car runs great in general and only has 109k miles on it for a 16 year old car. Anyways, here's the weird issues...
My passenger side doors do not lock with the key fob or internal buttons. The trunk also doesn't lock, period.
The driver side brake light acts weird. While having the headlights off, the light is very dim when braking, but when I have the headlights on, the brake light STAYS bright, and only gets slightly brighter when braking. The passenger side works just fine.
The cargo light in the back will not work automatically. It will work if I flip the switch to ON, but the auto position only makes the light flash once when opening the door, then it just stays off. I suspect the sensor is just busted, but I don't know where it is in the trunk.
And is there anything I can do about loose seat belts? They work fine, they just take a while to retract. Just in the front seats.

For your power door lock, disassemble the actuator, disassemble the motor inside of it, and clean the commutator with rubbing alcocol and fine grit sandpaper.
For your brake light, look for a short from the headlight power to the brake light power.
For loose seatbelts - go to the scrap yard. They should be dirt-cheap there as no one ever buys them. Back in the day when I owned a VW I got a full shopping bag of seatbelts for free from a scrap yard and used them to repair my car and for crafts.
