Default Exedy 8.8lb flywheel vs Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel

I checked around to see if someone has already covered this but I did not find anything, so here it goes.

I'm in the market for a new flywheel, I own a hpde ek hatch that is running a bone stock b16a2 with a toda rep header and a spec 2 exhaust plus an aem intake. The car is ran off a p30 ecu so it isn't making anything crazy and I do not plan on changing that for quite some time. I just wanna do track events. So my question is, I was interested in a Exedy 8.8lb flywheel to go with a Exedy stage 1 clutch. Mostly because it is 8.8lbs but also because the ring gear teeth are milled and not pressed. I then came across a Fidanza flywheel, I have personally owned one before in a previous car and it had no issues, the one I found is 7.5lbs, but its pressed because its a aluminum flywheel. It is a tad cheaper though. My main question is which one should I get? Is it really better to have one that is milled and not pressed? Or is the weight difference worth it since the Fidanza is lighter? Would I ever split the flywheel on stock power after many track events? Is that even something I should worry about?

I guess another side note is I planned on a Exedy Stage 1 Clutch, is that even worth it? Should I just buy a oem one? Or since the car is a hpde car and will see many events should I do a stage 1?

I am only interested in Exedy or the Fidanza flywheel, I'm not interested in other brands. Just looking for opinions from people who track cars and have used these items before.

Thanks!!

Fidanza. You won't have any issues with it and the friction pad can be replaced instead of having to resurface it.

Good point, that is a pro! Question though is 7.5lb too light? The car is only driven to and from the track so it wont see much abuse from the street.

No, not too light. I've been running the Fidanza in my DD/HPDE car since 2005. No issues.
