2000 Prelude H23A swap distributor help
Hey I bought a 2000 Prelude with the H23A swap. My first mistake was buying a non running car. Second was listening and believing the guy. Now I don't want to hear how stupid I am or all that trash talk. I'm just asking for some help. I feel pretty stupid right now. Anyways the car is a 5 speed car. It spins over but does not fire off. Was told it ran but now I know I was lied to. It has a the what I believe to be the JDM distributor in it. Has the jumper harness on it. I believe it was one her made himself bc I am not getting power to the distributor. Finally found out that I needed to jump that factory distributor plug black with yellow strip and the yellow. Got power over to my distributor. I do not believe it's coming in the plug in the right spot. Just found out today that the 10 pin plug is not even the right style for the motor. Juts wondering if anyone had the correct pin out for the jumper harness. I would need the front cam plug callout. The 10 pin distributor call out. The two other plugs by the distributor. The 4 pin and the 2 pin. Does anyone know of the 10 pin distributor plug goes wire for wire on the cam and crank plugs? My black and yellow wire on the distributor side is not hot. I believe that is the power in for the coil but dont want to fry anything.
Please post a picture of the dizzy plug and the associated plugs on the engine harness. Also, are you using the two sensors at the crankshaft ??? Also, what have you done at the external coil plug on the factory harness ???
Ok got it. Tried it three times.loo the guy from rywire told me that the distributor plug is not stock. That's problem one. I think the guy before me had intentions of doing something good but he messed it all up. He had what appeared to be a jumper harness made but I do not believe it is right due the the fact of the missing pins do not line up and the power is not coming in on the black with yellow strip wire.
Has the distributor plug been re-wired or has the adapter harness plug been modified... or both ??? I don't know that I have ever seen that style plug on a H/F series distributor before.
That's what I'm being told by lots. I'm not sure what the guy that I bought the car off of did. I'm assuming that he did and had someone the adapter custom. That is where the problem lies. Trying to figure out the correct wiring to re do it and don't want to burn anything up. Might just have to bite the bullet and buy a new distributor but then idk to go back to the H22 or go with another H23A JDM
So what distributor do I need to go back in there to make this thing run. I read the JDM distributors have all three sensors in the distributor along with the OBD 1 distributor? I can order the correct jumper harness but still would have a messed up distributor wiring.
